CW COACHWORKS EXPERTISE
Paint work
At C W Coachworks, we expertly work with a range of paint systems, including Cellulose, Acrylic , 2K, and water-based paints. Each system is carefully selected and tailored to meet the specific demands of the project, ensuring a flawless finish every time.
Metal work
Classic cars, having endured countless miles, inevitably show signs of wearโscratches, dents, and corrosion that affect their coachwork. These imperfections can leave a once-pristine vehicle looking worn. Thatโs why we are committed to delivering outstanding classic car coachwork.
Welding
We use traditional gas welding techniques, especially on coach-built cars, emphasizing the high level of craftsmanship involved in restoration work. By adhering to the original methods, you maintain the authenticity of the vehicles, ensuring that each repair blends seamlessly with the carโs original construction.
Accident repairs
Repairing accident damage on historic and classic cars involves more than just fixing the visible damage, itโs about restoring the vehicle's character and authenticity. By focusing on repairing as much of the original structure as possible, you ensure that the car retains its unique history.
Ash frame repairs
Ash wood is commonly used in the original construction of these vintage cars, providing flexibility and strength, but over time, areas can rot or weaken. By carefully removing and replacing the damaged sections with new ash, we restore the carโs structural integrity while retaining its original design.
Polishing
Polishing the paintwork on a classic car requires more than just skill-it involves an understanding of the carโs history, and the type of paint materials used in its original construction. Hand polishing can provide a more controlled, delicate approach for older, softer paints, while machine polishing is ideal for tougher finishes or larger surface areas.
Traditional, skilled, experienced, meticulous.
โChris panel beat and cut out corroded metal to repair doors on my 1973 Citroen DSafari. He did this to an unbelievable standard, easily the best I've ever seen.
He colour matched 50 year old paint, ensuring that the repainted door, and part of another door, matched the rest of the car - I didn't want other panels painted, which would have aided the colour match, because all the paint on the vehicle is/was original. He painstakingly sourced paint of the original type, and then forensically colour matched it and applied it to the car. The finished, painted result is incredible.
I can't praise the quality of Chris' work highly enough. It's unbelievable. The skills he's displayed are very seldom found in this day and age. I unconditionally recommend Chris / CW Coachworks and will happily provide further details of the quality of the work done for me on request.
Thanks Chris!โ
